ARCLIFFE assists C2C Capital / Ascendis Health in the acquisition of Sunwave Pharma

ARCLIFFE Bucharest and Nicosia offices have advised C2C, a South African investment advisory vehicle, on the acquisition process of SunWave business by Ascendis Health.

Sunwave is a distributor of complementary and alternative medicines and food supplement products in Romania. It is the largest player in the food supplements category and sixth largest player in the broader over-the-counter category in Romania.

Ascendis Health is a market leader in health and care products, owning some of the most recognised brands in South Africa. Its portfolio of products is spread across diverse revenue streams and markets in three divisions: Ascendis Consumer Brands, Ascendis Pharma-Med and Ascendis Phyto-Vet. Ascendis was established in 2008 by C2C Capital, a Johannesburg based private equity firm with diverse holdings in healthcare, consumer and home products.
