Maya Tzonkova

Maya Tzonkova is a counsel in the Sofia office.

With some 10 years of practice in Bulgaria, Maya has primarily focused herself on general corporate and real estate.

Maya has significant experience in the acquisition and sale of real estate, planning and zoning, environmental issues, property management, financing of real estate transactions, realisation of security over real estate assets, real estate management contracts, leasing – commercial and office (both tenant and landlord side), construction litigation, and arbitration and negotiated settlement.

She has represented a variety of players on the Bulgaria market in relation to corporate transactions, including bidders, targets, boards of directors, controlling shareholders, institutional and private investors as well as acquisition financiers.

Maya has led teams engaged in due diligence review to transaction structuring, from analysis of tax and regulatory implications to post-closing follow through. Maya carries on a daily practice in relation to commercial contracts and general corporate needs.
